from the East Yard at Bluefield,
WV to the crossovers at Oakvale, WV.
This is the western end of the
Christiansburg District of the Virginia Division.
The line follows the
East River Valley as it twists and curves its way to
the New River at
Glen Lynn, VA. There is a ruling grade of 1.6%
for
westbounds.
The West Virginia autumn scenery is a beautiful backdrop
for the parade
of trains that Norfolk Southern operates on this line.
There are
